This course is held at San Luis Pass on the Texas Gulf Coast where we have access to protected bays and the open Gulf of Mexico

• Reading and interpreting nautical charts
• Taking bearings and plotting courses
• Calculating distance, time, and speed
• Paddling a course by following a bearing
• Using ranges
• Interpreting tides and currents
• Using NOAA weather radio
• Solo and assisted rescues in open water
• Advanced strokes and maneuvers
• Making crossings
• Refining paddling technique
• Towing
• Surf Launcing and Landing
